Product Description

Make great tasting, fresh fruit or vegetable drinks at home with this efficient juicer from Breville. The unit's Italian-made 1000-watt (1-1/3 horsepower) motor delivers ultimate power and durability, while its built-in electronic "smart chip" regulates power to the blades, depending on the juicing load. The juicer's patented, dual-action, diagonal knife blades are encased by a titanium-plated stainless-steel cutting disc, which features 115 individual knives to grind pulp into the tiniest particles. The machine's circular three-inch stainless feed tube easily processes whole fruits and vegetables without pre-cutting, slicing, or dicing. The patented design centers the feed tube directly over the cutter, providing the strength to process large quantities of fruit and vegetables instantly.

For harder fruits and vegetables, like apples and carrots, the juicer's high-speed delivers a crushing 13,000 RPM, approximately three times faster than most other machines. At such speeds, the pulp particles are "g-forced" against the stainless-steel micro-mesh filter with tremendous pressure to squeeze out as much juice as possible. An 8-ounce glass of juice from whole apples takes less than five seconds. Low-speed spins at a whisper-quiet 6500 RPMs, which delivers the best results when juicing leafy vegetables, or softer fruits such as watermelons or oranges. A 34-fluid-ounce (1 liter) juicing pitcher, a large 100-fluid-ounce pulp container, and a user manual with recipes are included, and dishwasher-safe parts make cleanup a snap. Housed in beautiful die-cast stainless steel, the juicer measures 8 by 9 by 19 inches and carries a one-year warranty.

We've owned Omega, Campion, Juiceman and the Breville JE900. I looked at the Jack LaLanne, but the motor is 3x's less powerful and it isn't as well made. The Breville 800JEXL 1000 is the best one yet!

We juice everything from fruit to veggies. Kale, some wheat grass, collards, mustard greens, beets, carrots, peppers, chard, ginger, garlic. Anything and everything. We make 4 batches of juice at one time - (4 quarts). (Although you can put whole apples in it, you might want to take the seeds out as they contain trace amounts of a cyanide compound) The 800JEXL isn't as noisy as the JE900. The basket is finer, too. The stainless steel body makes it easy to clean. It allows you to scrub the parts whereas you can't use abrasives on the plastic models. After a while, they get residue build up from juicing greens. The pulp is dry and minimal if you follow directions. Breville juicers are the easiest to clean.

If you are considering a juicer, don't hesitate to buy this one. And from owning the JE900, I know the company stands behind their products.

Let me preface by saying I have never juiced before so I am (was) a novice in selecting a juicer and drinking juice. After reviewing most of the juicers on the market and reading the reviews here I purchased the Breville JE900 about 1 month ago. I wanted to use the JE900 for 30 days before I submitted a review. I have been juicing on an average about 3 times a day since I purchased the juicer. The JE900 is simple to use and very easy to clean. The brush that comes with the juicer is an added bonus to clean the stainless steel filter and blades. I have juiced everything from pineapple to carrots and find it very easy to operate. The noise sounds like a vacuum cleaner from the powerful 600W motor, but it is not running that long to be annoying. If the apples are small you may get to juice them whole, but I find I have to at least half the apple to make it fit. The receipes that come with the juicer are ok, but the best bet for your dollar is purchasing a used book from Amazon.com by Jay Kordish "Juiceman's Power of Juicing" for $1.25. I find myself losing much needed pounds from juicing because I am now substituting fresh juices instead of junk food. One of my favorite receipes is the carrot/apple/and a touch of celery. You will find yourself at first going by the receipes as printed, but then modifying them as your taste dictates.
The bottom line.....I would purchase another Breville immediately if something every happened to mine.

This is my third juicing machine. My first was a Champion which served without problems for years. On the plus side it was powerful and durable. On the down side it was rather noisy, vibrated a lot and left a lot of juice in the pulp and was hard to clean. My second juicer was the omega screw machine which I still have. I bought it because it also did wheat grass. On the plus side it is quiet and juices anything, makes nut butter and extracts a lot of juice leaving very dry pulp. On the down side it is slow and worst of all the feed tube is really small. You have to do a lot of cutting to get things small enough to get into the feed tube. I pretty much only use it for wheatgrass now. The Breville is the best juicer I have had. It is an example of good product design in that it is simple, practical and attractive. It is powerful, has a feed tube large enough to take large whole carrots, beets and small apples. It is quiet, comes apart easy and cleans up quickly. The capture pitcher which nests into the machine has a nice cover so you can store the juice for later. If making juice is a hassle you're going to put off doing it. This juicer makes juicing easy and not a hassle.
